The Prosperous City of Aberdeen otherwise known as Granite City, made its name for an outstanding granite architecture.

This is third largest city in Scotland and its well known for its famous "Granite Mile" the Union Street which is a hub to over 800 shops, restaurants and pubs. Aberdeen is the only city in Scotland with proper golden sandy beach which is surrounded by charming cafés, restaurants and amusement park.

The whole region is well known for is breath taking scenery, its whisky trail and many world class golf courses. Royal Dee Side is located on west side of Aberdeen and its well known for its fine castles including Balmoral Castle where Queen visits every summer.

There are many events that take place here such as Braemar gatherings and highland games. It is also right way to reach Cairngorm mountains that offer berth taking views, and for those that want to take it a bit easier there are plenty of other walks which will also offer amazing views.

Aberdeen has a vast history dating almost 8000 years. There are many museums showing this long history. The Maritime Museum shows Aberdeen history on the scene, Tool Booth Museum shows the local history of crime and punishment.

The Art Gallery houses paintings and sculptures from 15th century to the present day. The Satrosphere is fun for kids and gives a hand on approach to how thing work relating to science. There are many other museums to choose from which may be interested in.

Aberdeen harbour is a thriving port with over 28,000 shipping movements every year. The summer months present an opportunity to take harbour cruse where you will be able to get closer view of the boats and take different view of Aberdeen skyline.

There are over 17 castles in the area and many of them within an hour of drive from Aberdeen. Many offer enjoyable walks, beautiful gardens, gift shops and cafés where you will be able to enjoy lovely lunch.

Aberdeen hosts many entertainment venues from His Majesty's Theatre which holds major shows such as Shrek, Wicked, Two Russell Watson to many performances from the Scottish Ballet and Opera. The Music Hall is smaller than HMT however still hosts good variety of world class performers. From Sir Ranulph Fiennes, comedian Jon Richardson, musicians Patsy Cline and Paloma Faith. The smallest venue is a Lemon Tree which holds between 300 to 500, so viewers get real intimate feeling. Even though it is small is has still hosted many big names Millican and musicians Sharron Corr and Showaddywaddy. So why not to treat your self to a show in one this magnificent venues.
